About the Journal

Terra Journal of Interdisciplinary Magic (TJIM) is a monthly, open-access journal dedicated to publishing research at the intersection of disciplines that should not intersect — and occasionally, those that absolutely should not.

Founded in 2024 under the Latin name for Earth (Terra), our mission is to provide a rigorous venue for ideas that are too bold, too strange, or too entertaining for conventional journals. We believe that the most important scientific breakthroughs often begin as someone saying "wait, what if we tried the thing that makes no sense?"

Indexing & Impact

TJIM is indexed in the International Journal of Questionable Metrics (IJQM), the Directory of Open Access Almost-Journals (DOAAJ), and is pending inclusion in Scopus™ (we sent them an email in 2024 and they haven't responded, which we interpret as enthusiastic interest). Our current Impact Factor is 0.003, which we prefer to describe as "highly concentrated."

History

2024
Journal founded. First issue published with 4 articles, all by the same person using different pseudonyms.
2025
Launched Special Issue on Astro-Statistics, which was cited by an actual astronomer. We still have the email.
2026
Reached 3 volumes and 8 issues. The website was redesigned to look like an Apple product page, which increased submissions by an unmeasurable amount.

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-Doesn'tReallyMatter (CC BY-NC-DRM) license. You may share, adapt, and quote freely — just don't claim you wrote it, and don't try to sell it. (Though if you do sell it, we'd like a cut.)
